Pakistan Super League A Great Success






Pakistan Super League ended over yesterday with exciting results. Islamabad United, the team who was not even in a queue to qualify for the final, has won the tournament quite convincingly. The team got their form later in the tournament but continued their winning stream till they won the PSL final. Quetta Gladiators who defeated Peshawar Zalmi in the first qualifying final were considered to be favorite, but the Islamabad team showed great character both in batting and bowling formats. In Pakistan Super League final contest, the entire stadium was fully packed and none of seats were unfilled.  It shows a great success for the Pakistan Cricket as they organized this tournament convincingly. The Board was able to attract many renowned international players from almost all of the International cricket teams except India. 


Earlier in the Pakistan Super League, Yuvraj Singh was included but later on he was nowhere on the screen. The international players from all over the world, greatly appreciated the overall environment of the league. The players were encouraged, supported and the team management contributed a lot to make this event successful. The foreign coaches were highly satisfied from the environment and exposure provided to them. Quetta Gladiators coach Viv Richards had given his team a lot more than expected. The guys were highly satisfied from his coaching tactics. He has been given an assignment to coach the Pakistan International team in the upcoming Asia Cup and ICC T20 World Cup. Pakistan took out great advantage from this league as new talented faces come out on the screen. Amongst such talented players are Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Sami and Khalid Latif. All of these players performed exceptionally well in the tournament. They got an exposure to play with International players and they showed their character. Hopefully the PSL next edition will be even more successful. Credit goes to Najam Sethi and the entire Pakistan Cricket Board.

Pakistan T20 league Top Scorers

There are great batting performances throughout Pakistan domestic T20 contests. Umar Akmal turned out to be the leading scorer. He played 07 matches and scored 335 runs having an average of 83.75 and a strike rate of 157.27. He scored 04 half centuries, hit 17 sixes and 27 fours. He was not in his supreme form before this contest but he showed great intent and character for his side. Though, his team was not able to qualify for the quarter final stage regardless of his remarkable performances. His remarkable achievements could lead him to perform even better in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.


Ravi Bopara stood 2nd to Umar Akmal in regards to runs scored in the Pakistan t20 league. He made great contributions for his side and scored 329 runs in 09 matches he played. He scored at an average of 54.83 and had a strike rate of 132.12. He hit 11 sixes and 21 fours to complete his journey. The player won exciting contests for his team Karachi Kings. He is not part of the England’s One-day or T20 squad anymore but his performances will divert the attentions of selectors as the ICC T20 World Cup is going to be held next month in Subcontinent.




In these contests an exciting cricketer has emerged to be a top 03 scorer, Sharjeel Khan gained a lot of praise and attention from the spectators, he has scored 18 sixes up till now in Pakistan t20 league. He has one more match to play today. The player scored 287 runs in ten matches, having an average of 31.88 and a strike rate of 151.05. He also scored the first and only hundred of this T20 league. He hit 26 fours and the last night he won the match for his team, Islamabad United from the tough competitors. He could be the leading runs scorer if he makes his mark today.

Sharjeel Khan Steals The Show Today

Today the match is held between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) .Though Peshawar team was favorite to win this contest but it turned out to be one sided game of cricket. This was a knock out game and so called the semi-final of this Pakistan domestic cricket series contest. The player who has done exceptionally well today and turned the game towards his side is Sharjeel Khan. 


The player showed good form throughout the PSL but he showed massive character today. He scored 117 off just only 62 balls. The innings included eight sixes and twelve fours. This is the first century scored in the Pakistan Super League.  The player is awarded 'Player of the Match' award on his incredible performance. The player could be selected on his supreme performance in the upcoming International contests. ACC Asia Cup is just about to start in the next two days. Following there is ICC T20 World Cup 2016. As the Pakistan T20 team captain Shahid Afridi already explained that the youngsters are checked on their performances in this domestic contest. If they proved them out to be competent, they could be selected for international battles. There can be change in the selected squad. The player of the match for today will definitely grab the selectors' attention. 

Peshawar Zalmi team was not able to recover throughout the entire day. None of their batsmen except Kamran Akmal and Shahid Afridi showed good batting performances. The team got all out on the score of 126 runs in 18 overs. There seemed to be good bowling by the Islamabad United team, Imran Khalid took 04 wickets just by giving 20 runs in four overs. Rest of the bowling department doesn't give too many runs. 

Tomorrow the PSL final will be held between the Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United at Dubai Cricket Stadium. All of the tickets are already sold out. There will be huge crowd watching this match tomorrow.
