The second match of the Asia Cup has
been taken place today. That was a tough contest between a weaker side and a
T20 world champion. Unexpectedly UAE performed very well against the stronger
side. UAE restricted Sri Lanka to a total of 129 runs. LD Chandimal remained
the highest scorer with 50 runs. TM Dilshan contributed a bit but rest of the
batsmen were not able to settle against the quality bowling attack. Amjad Javed
took 03 wickets and Ahmed Raza was outstanding by giving only 14 runs in his
four overs.
It was Sri Lankan Captain today
who saved the team from drastic defeat from his outstanding bowling. SL Malinga
took 04 wickets and 03 of the wickets were shared by KMDN Kulasekara just by giving
10 runs in his four overs. SL Malinga got player of the match award on his outstanding
bowling performance. From UAE’s side, SP Patil remained the highest scorer with
the bat. He scored 37 runs off 36 bowls. Rest of the batting department failed
against the quality bowling attack. India
and Sri Lanka won their matches, while Bangladesh and UAE got defeated in these
contests.
UAE’s performance has been
outstanding today as they have given a very tough time to one of the best T20
teams in the world.

India won the first Asia Cup
match today with having convincing victory over Bangladesh. The team continued
their winning form after defeating the T20 series to Australia by 3-0. Rohit
Sharma, the star batsman of Indian cricket showed great temperament and
character today to take his team to the winning stage. Indian team played first
and put 166 runs on the board having massive contribution from the right handed
opener scoring 83 runs off 55 bowls only.
HH Pandya made good contribution to
the end and made handy 31 runs. The all-rounder took 01 wicket as well. MS
Dhoni just faced last two bowls and made out handy 08 runs out of these. India
bowling was outstanding; they didn’t allow Bangladesh team to settle and took
wickets regularly. The highest scorer was Sabbir Rahman, who scored 44 runs on
32 bowls. Rest of the batting failed to compete against the quality bowling
attack.
Ashish Nehra who was brought back
into Indian lineup was outstanding, he took 03 wickets and didn’t give much
runs. Rest of the bowlers took 01 wicket each and they remained economical as
well. Finally India is able to get the right bowling combination for the
International contests. Bangladesh already defeated India at home in the
bilateral series, so this win will give confidence to Indian side.

Pakistan Super League A Great Success
Pakistan Super League ended over
yesterday with exciting results. Islamabad United, the team who was not even in
a queue to qualify for the final, has won the tournament quite convincingly.
The team got their form later in the tournament but continued their winning
stream till they won the PSL final. Quetta Gladiators who defeated Peshawar
Zalmi in the first qualifying final were considered to be favorite, but the
Islamabad team showed great character both in batting and bowling formats. In Pakistan
Super League final contest, the entire stadium was fully packed and none of
seats were unfilled. It shows a great
success for the Pakistan Cricket as they organized this tournament
convincingly. The Board was able to attract many renowned international players
from almost all of the International cricket teams except India.
Earlier in the
Pakistan Super League, Yuvraj Singh was included but later on he was nowhere on
the screen. The international players from all over the world, greatly
appreciated the overall environment of the league. The players were encouraged,
supported and the team management contributed a lot to make this event
successful. The foreign coaches were highly satisfied from the environment and
exposure provided to them. Quetta Gladiators coach Viv Richards had given his
team a lot more than expected. The guys were highly satisfied from his coaching
tactics. He has been given an assignment to coach the Pakistan International
team in the upcoming Asia Cup and ICC T20 World Cup. Pakistan took out great
advantage from this league as new talented faces come out on the screen.
Amongst such talented players are Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Sami and Khalid
Latif. All of these players performed exceptionally well in the tournament.
They got an exposure to play with International players and they showed their
character. Hopefully the PSL next edition will be even more successful. Credit
goes to Najam Sethi and the entire Pakistan Cricket Board.

Aus cricket team Milestones
Currently Aus cricket team is leading the points table in the ODI ranking and they stand on number one spot having a rating list of 126. Australian ODI and Australian test team Captain, Steven Smith has been given a role to lead the Australian side in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup event. The team ranks at number 02 spot in the test ranking. If the team is able to win the recent test series that they are playing against New Zealand, they will get their position on number one place. Steven Smith expressed the milestones for the Australian side to get the number one status in all formats of cricket. In the last home T20 series against India, the Australian team was badly dismantled by the Indian side as they lost all three T20 contests against them under the captaincy of AJ Finch. Though the Australian opener is in his supreme batting form in T20 contests but he was not able to save his side. His individual contributions were great but the team was not able to restrict the Indian side. Virat Kohli showed special class to win the battles, he scored three consecutive 50 plus scores in the three T20 matches.

T20 Aus cricket team is at number eight spot in the ICC T20 ranking. The captain explained that they cannot live with this deteriorating status anymore and want to get their repute back. They aimed to be number one in all cricketing formats. It has to be remembered that the Big Bash T20 league is a great success for the Australian domestic cricket where local players are growing and international players are participating consecutively. Cricket Australia has a great talent pool but they need to work out for their best options to compete in the upcoming T20 event. Shane Watson is the recent inclusion in the side, both with the ball and the bat the all-rounder proved himself to be the most competent.

Asia Cup is for formally known as ACC Asia Cup. ACC is an
abbreviation of Asian Cricket Counsil. Five Teams will play in this contest.
Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates. The tournament will be
held in Bangladesh. Bangladesh could be considered favorites for this
tournament as they have an advantage of home ground. They already defeated
Pakistan and India in the bilateral series at the home ground.
South African Cricket Team vs. England cricket team T20 Contests
South African Cricket Team gained their reputation back in
the T20 contests after defeating England Cricket team by 2-0. The first game
was considerably the tougher one, where England were just defending the total
of 134 runs and on the last ball of the match SA team was able to achieve the
target. But the 2nd match turned out to be SA’s commanding game. The
English team setup a good total on the board, having 171 runs scored where JC
Buttler once again was the leading scorer with 54 runs on just 28 balls. He hit
04 sixes and 04 fours. It has to be remembered that the player has a strike
rate of 118.75 in the One-day internationals and in the T20 contests he scored
runs with a strike rate of 135.56, which is collectively the highest strike
rates in all formats of cricket for any player.
South African Cricket Team set out another record on chasing
this massive total in 13.4 overs only. Again SA team batting monster, AB de Villiers
was unstoppable with having 71 runs on the board on just only 29 balls. He hit
06 sixes and 06 fours in his innings. HM Amla remained undefeated on 69 runs
and had faced 38 balls. With this win South African Cricket Team reached out on 2nd place
in the T20 ranking with 119 rating list, next to Indian cricket team having 122
rating list. The captain Faf du Plessis expressed great pleasure on team’s supreme
form before the start of ICC T20 world cup.
Pakistan T20 league Top Scorers
There are great batting performances throughout Pakistan
domestic T20 contests. Umar Akmal turned out to be the leading scorer. He
played 07 matches and scored 335 runs having an average of 83.75 and a strike
rate of 157.27. He scored 04 half centuries, hit 17 sixes and 27 fours. He was
not in his supreme form before this contest but he showed great intent and
character for his side. Though, his team was not able to qualify for the
quarter final stage regardless of his remarkable performances. His remarkable
achievements could lead him to perform even better in the upcoming ICC T20
World Cup.
Ravi Bopara stood 2nd to Umar Akmal in regards to runs scored
in the Pakistan t20 league. He made great contributions for his side and scored
329 runs in 09 matches he played. He scored at an average of 54.83 and had a
strike rate of 132.12. He hit 11 sixes and 21 fours to complete his journey.
The player won exciting contests for his team Karachi Kings. He is not part of
the England’s One-day or T20 squad anymore but his performances will divert the
attentions of selectors as the ICC T20 World Cup is going to be held next month
in Subcontinent.
In these contests an exciting cricketer has emerged to be a
top 03 scorer, Sharjeel Khan gained a lot of praise and attention from the
spectators, he has scored 18 sixes up till now in Pakistan t20 league. He has
one more match to play today. The player scored 287 runs in ten matches, having
an average of 31.88 and a strike rate of 151.05. He also scored the first and
only hundred of this T20 league. He hit 26 fours and the last night he won the
match for his team, Islamabad United from the tough competitors. He could be
the leading runs scorer if he makes his mark today.

Sharjeel Khan Steals The Show Today
Today the match is held between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) .Though Peshawar team was favorite to win this contest but it turned out to be one sided game of cricket. This was a knock out game and so called the semi-final of this Pakistan domestic cricket series contest. The player who has done exceptionally well today and turned the game towards his side is Sharjeel Khan.
The player showed good form throughout the PSL but he showed massive character today. He scored 117 off just only 62 balls. The innings included eight sixes and twelve fours. This is the first century scored in the Pakistan Super League. The player is awarded 'Player of the Match' award on his incredible performance. The player could be selected on his supreme performance in the upcoming International contests. ACC Asia Cup is just about to start in the next two days. Following there is ICC T20 World Cup 2016. As the Pakistan T20 team captain Shahid Afridi already explained that the youngsters are checked on their performances in this domestic contest. If they proved them out to be competent, they could be selected for international battles. There can be change in the selected squad. The player of the match for today will definitely grab the selectors' attention.
Peshawar Zalmi team was not able to recover throughout the entire day. None of their batsmen except Kamran Akmal and Shahid Afridi showed good batting performances. The team got all out on the score of 126 runs in 18 overs. There seemed to be good bowling by the Islamabad United team, Imran Khalid took 04 wickets just by giving 20 runs in four overs. Rest of the bowling department doesn't give too many runs.
Tomorrow the PSL final will be held between the Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United at Dubai Cricket Stadium. All of the tickets are already sold out. There will be huge crowd watching this match tomorrow.
